Small Queen Size Bedroom Ideas
A small room can be a fantastic place to decorate, unless you have a queen bed that takes up almost all the space. There are other objects that need a space in our set, and we must also be able to walk among them. If you want to know how to arrange a small bedroom with a queen bed without losing your mind (or style), then keep reading.
A queen-size bed is 80 inches long and 60 inches wide, which makes it perfect for guest rooms because two people can sleep on it. However, the irony of the situation is that these rooms are not very large.
Although they occupy less space than a King-size bed, its location is still a predicament.

Many people believe that such a large bed is a hindrance. However, they are quite the opposite: when space is reduced, we must make it the center of attention, changing the position of our furniture so that it adapts to the bed. With the right layout, we can make our room look bigger than it is.
Keep in mind that most of our furniture may not be part of our small bedroom layout unless you use minimalist furniture. Everything that is not necessary must be located elsewhere, and gradually you will see how the room gains space.
How to arrange a small bedroom with a queen bed
Start with a blueprint

The best way to start distributing your furniture is if you know the measurements you are working with. To do this, begin by taking the measurements of your room. Remember that you need to include all floorspace. Hence, also consider angles, corners, and nooks. Preferably, add in it the location of the doors and windows so you can consider them when placing the furniture.
To obtain the square footage of your bedroom, multiply the width of the area by its length. The resulting figure you generate is your floor area in square feet. In case you're not comfortable multiplying figures manually, you can always use a square footage calculator. Once you have the figure you need, write down the dimensions of your room on a blueprint that you can use as a reference.
Next, measure each of the furniture you plan to place in your room. Some measurements can be obtained online because they are standards, but you will inevitably have to measure some furniture.
Avoid details in bed

The selection of the bed for our small rooms should be kept simple, avoiding those imperial or Renaissance styles that have large frames and awnings.
A queen bed in a small room can still be elegant, but this through the details of the backrest and stirrups.
As we are looking to maximize room space, a raised bed with a platform and shelves at the bottom can help you gain extra storage.
Remember that at a minimum, you need a 60cm space around the bed to be able to walk. Any distance less than that will result in space problems, even to locate bedside tables.

Depending on the use of the bed, it may be advisable to push it against one or several walls. Although many people want to place the bed in the center of the bedroom, in most small bedroom layouts leaving both sides clear may result in a huge loss of space.
The first thing is to determine which the best walls to place the bed are. These would be those that are opposite to the entrance of the room so that when entering we do not feel the immediate pressure of the bed on the available area.

Now we can choose to stick only the back of the wall, or if, on the contrary, we must stick it on one of its sides. Although this limits our mobility in bed, it makes us gain more than 60cm of space for the room.
The colors for the sheets should be between white and pastel shades, with subtle and delicate patterns. Dark colors make the spaces look smaller than they are, while the light ones provide the opposite effect.
As for the bedside tables, some models can be embedded in the walls, perfect to achieve a visual sensation of spaciousness in the room, since they do not take up floor space.
Take advantage of each compartment

Storage is essential in any room. Our belongings cannot be located anywhere; they require dedicated spaces to keep them tidy.
Placing a series of shelves can be inconvenient considering the space they will occupy, so it is recommended that the bed include its compartments.
The closet is an area that we can use to order the entire room. With the correct location of clothes and shoes, we should have enough space to store other objects. If our closet is a storage challenge, then it is best to hire an expert to order it.
Do not place chairs or sofas in your room. Instead, use a series of ottomans or a large bench that also has drawers to store your belongings.
We must use the vertical space

How do you arrange a small bedroom with a queen bed? Simple—use all the available vertical space, either with shelves, cabinets, etc. Any furniture or mechanism that allows us to organize vertically should be considered as part of our plans.
Pompous cabinets with large doors are very beautiful, but in small spaces, they are also impractical. Instead, we can replace them with hanging rail systems. Or, you can likewise add hooks and distribute them on your wall. Towels and some garments can be perfectly folded under the bed (in their corresponding drawers).
If you do not plan to embed bedside tables on the wall, then the alternative is that the back of the bed has enough space to replace them. Alternately, you can try placing a pegboard near the entrance of your room. The board can work as an area where you can hang pieces of jewelry, bags, or even family photos.
A visual trick

Colors are perfect in deceiving the senses. For example, bright spaces will look wider than they really are. That is why almost all small rooms are painted with white or similar colors to make the space appear airy and large.
Any color that can reflect the light and make the room not look dark will work. We must stay away from cold and opaque shades.
Some examples are white, pastel colors, lilac, yellow, sky blue, light green, etc. If you want a brighter finish, ivory and cream are our favorite options. Remember, you don't have to stick with one shade. For instance, you can apply yellow paint in your room, then add in gold or white accents to ensure your space will reflect sunlight.
Beyond the walls, some furniture can adopt the light color palette to accompany the set. Focus on those large decorations, such as curtains, sheets, carpets, and the like.
Keep the minimalist style

The minimalist philosophy is based on keeping our entire home free of disorder. The more objects we have that do not fulfill a purpose, the less space we will have. On some occasions, this disorder can be suffocating, which ruins the entire environment.
We should not follow the traditional pattern of placing armchairs and tables in our 12×12 room if we are not going to use them. We have already said that there are alternatives for each of these furnishings that may be more practical.
Our wardrobe is an excellent place to start cleaning. If there are clothes that you no longer wear, donate them to charity. Simply by getting rid of a couple of objects, you will see how you gain more freedom in the room.
However, take note that minimalism doesn't translate to being boring. You can still feature a minimalist design yet introduce a splash of color. One simple way you can fulfill this is by placing an area rug with a vibrant shade in your bedroom or hanging a colorful abstract painting on your wall.
Consider each option

Knowing how to arrange a small bedroom with a queen bed is a matter of being willing to make bold changes. If you want to have a television in your room, you will have to place it on the wall. If you need more storage space for your clothes, try a closet that reaches the ceiling.
The number of possibilities offered by the walls to clear the floors are unlimited. You can even install sconces to remove floor lamps (although this requires construction work).
